LifeCo Therapist Tanya came to New Zealand as a skilled migrant in 1996. Since 2007, she have worked in the health sector providing social work and counselling in different settings. Her work environment includes hospital inpatient wards, EDU, ADHB Home Health, and Hospice.

In 2017, Tanya established a private practice and contracted with various organizations, GP clinics, and ACC to fully utilize her knowledge and skills to benefit local communities.

Tanya believes there is no perfect model when working in New Zealand – the island of diversity. She works respectfully and sensitively with clients from different cultures and walks of life, using integrative and holistic therapeutic approaches. She can work in a bilingual manner.

Tanya’s special expertise is combining social work experience and counseling skills to talk through issues like

  • social phobia,
  • relationships in the workplace and families,
  • financial hardship,
  • housing problems,
  • grief and bereavement,
  • palliative care and carer burden;
  • seeking ways to reduce or resolve the issue, achieving goals set by the clients.

From her successful settlement journey, she understands the challenges faced by migrants and refugees. She walks alongside her clients when they face life changes and adjustments. She is willing to advocate and assist her clients in developing their goals and plans to fit their needs.

Tanya provides a mobile clinic within the Greater Auckland area, and online sessions are available nationwide.
