LifeCo therapist Dr Elizabeth Ross is ACC registered. In her 15 years as a Clinical Psychologist, Elizabeth has worked in both public and private settings, providing essential mental health support to individuals and groups. Her practice has included: assessment, individual and group therapy, clinical supervision, and facilitation of training workshops for DHB, Corrections, schools and NGO’s.

Elizabeth has gained extensive experience working with adults and children, and young people struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, loss and grief, stress and burnout, relationship difficulties and unhelpful behaviours. Elizabeth is contracted through ACC for trauma treatment.  

Her passion is in harnessing the power of the therapeutic relationship to create meaningful change for her clients.

Elizabeth is experienced in the following treatment options:

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) which places a focus on valued living – knowing what motivates our purpose in daily life and work. This model also highlights the importance of self-acceptance and building on strengths.
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) helps clients identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviours that contribute to their distress. 
  • Trauma -Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) is a treatment that helps people cope with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other difficulties caused by trauma. It’s an evidence-based approach that can help children, adolescents, and their families. 
  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) focusses on practical skills to help clients regulate emotions, cope with crises and build healthy relationship skills.
